Spin Imaging approached blupointscan with the idea of scanning a Dallara Indy Car for Dragon Racing so they could view how sponsorship graphics would look on the organic surfaces of the racecar in both road trim and oval trim. Their ultimate goal was to have a digital file that they could animate showing the racecar on different race tracks on the Indy Car circuit for team sponsors with the sponsors graphics displayed.

 

We scanned the racecar tub, side pods and engine cover. Then scanned both the road trim and oval trim aerodynamic body assemblies. We merged the separate scan files together to provide Spin Imaging with an accurate representation of the racecar for their animation project.
